Description
This is a "WESTERN ELECTRIC" model
202
resurrected into an early "Design Line"
type telephone.
This happened in the 1950s after the 202
had run its course and was replaced with the 302, then the model 500. What to do with all the 202s coming back to Western Electric?
Hey, let's make something special....and they did!
The base has a Brass-like finish and the handset is painted Ivory. (There are a couple of "paint nicks" in the handset, but nothing serious.) It has an early "open face" plastic fingerwheel and cloth handset cord. It's a pretty little rascal and small enough to fit nearly anywhere.
There were a few different variations of this model in the many "BELL SYSTEM" companies.
Originally they had a ringer box which has since disappeared so you will have to listen for your other phones to ring in order to answer.
It has had a "Mini-Network" installed to give you quality sound.
A good working telephone.
(As with any rotary dials today, you may have
dialing problems with newer digital service
lines, such as, internet systems, some cable
systems & others. Will always work on traditional
Telephone Company's lines.)
