These gloves are brand new and have never been used, only taken out of their original plastic wrapping for the sake of taking pictures. Title makes two versions of this glove: a lace-up model that they refer to as a sparring glove, and a hook and loop model that they refer to as a bag glove. However, both gloves use the same horsehair / foam combination for the padding, so the only real difference is that the one labeled as a bag glove has the hook and loop closure, while the one labeled as a sparring glove is lace-up. Therefore, while these are technically the sparring model, they would work just as well for bag or mitt work. These particular gloves are 14 ounces, and they are genuine leather with leather welted seams. The leather welted seams are more commonly seen in older gloves from the 1970s and prior, as well as in several well-known glove brands out of Mexico. The welted seams are stronger than regular stitching and add to the gloves’ overall durability. These gloves actually remind me a lot of some popular Mexican glove models from several decades ago. The outermost layer of padding, which is the horsehair, is nice and soft, while the layer of foam padding underneath is fairly dense, which means they should have good durability, even with heavy bagwork.
