Beautiful Antique Petrus Regout Maastricht Porcelain Plate made in Holland circa late 19th century. This 8 1/4" collector plate by Petrus Regout & Co. Maastricht is decorated in the "Timor" pattern in chinoisserie style. Plate has a polychrome transferware pattern with hand decorated bright accents and luster. Colors are nice and bright with no fading. No chips or cracks. The scene depicted on the plates is from Chinese "Romance of the Western Chamber" also translated as "The Story of the Western Wing", one of the most famous Chinese dramatic works, known as China's most popular love comedy. Stamped on back with the Spinx mark - P. Regout & Co. MAASTRICHT TIMOR - this stamp was used from 1879 - ? Also impressed into the back is the number 8 F.
