    Here's a black telephone handset made by the "Western Electronic Company, Berkeley, 5, California". Note, the handset on the exterior reads, "Electronic", not "Electric". I tried to find information for the approximate year this was
    manufactured
    , but cannot find any info on it - everything refers to the Western "Electric" Company. At any rate, this handset is large and heavy, measuring about 9 inches long and weighing about 1.5 pounds. The black cord remains attached, but is no longer stretchy and is in the coiled position as shown. Please see the photos of the opened earpiece and mouthpiece ends, too.
