Gray 3 slot payphone Rare bottom housing Unique 3 slot payphone

Description

Rare Gray Manufacturing Company  3 slot payphone lower housing . This is the only 1 known to exist .
Look at it carefully . Look at the 2 front bottom corners. It was found on a complete Gray payphone . I removed it
sandblasted
it and powder coated it
It is  a prototype that never  made it into the public use . A few of you have seen this one before . It is the same one and I bought it.
Most that have seen this  think it  was designed to take the place of the cast Iron 139 bracket that mounted to 3 slot payphones so they could be mounted to a counter . With the front feet corners this stabilized the phone .
One other serious payphone collector thinks this housing was made this way to prevent someone with a hammer from breaking out the corners to get the money out of the vault.  I have my doubts about that because there would be easier ways to get into the vault . I was going to put this on a 50G payphone but never did .
