I purchased these brand new to replace an older failed Z-wave fan controller and to have a spare. When I included them in my SmartThings hub, the DSK enrollment method includes them into my SmartThings network as a dimmer switch instead of a fan controller and the driver can not be edited. The switch itself still works correctly manually and with using the SmartThings app, and it can be contolled by voice using Alexa with the 3 speeds that the switch puts out. However, the app shows the switch with a dimmer slide and doesn't match my other 4 fan switches on my app that show 3 speed settings. I have OCD and SmartThings customer support was no help!
I installed the switch with PIN 38604 and removed the tabs on one side before I enrolled it and realized the issue with my app, so that one is .00
The switch with PIN 38978 was just hooked up to confirm it worked like the other ZW4002 switch, and it does exactly. It was included and excluded and that's it. That one is .00 because it is like brand new.
These switches are essentially brand new. The switches are not defective. My SmartThings hub is the problem. I have replaced my old fan controller with an older non-DSK switch and now my switches work for me like I want.
If you have Z-Wave hub that is not SmartThings, these are for you. They will still work with SmartThings as long as you don't mind the app showing them as a dimmer switch.
The PIN number or QR code on the switch is used for enrollment using the DSK method. They are unique numbers and I have recorded them to avoid claims of non-working devices and requests for a refund. You can't send me your old broken switch and claim it is the one I sold you!
I don't accept returns, but these are guaranteed to work like new.
