any times the upper lock is damaged from removal
or there is no key. Sometimes it is just plain missing!
(This is not for the lower 'vault' access)
In most cases, the buyer of a payphone is buying
for decorative reasons (Rec Room, Man Cave, etc.)
and upper cabinet security is not a concern.
The assembly is very sturdy, made from 11 gauge steel.
The latch is operated with a standard flat blade screwdriver.
The latch is made from 1/8" thick steel, 1/2' wide and swings
into position when the bolt is turned. It will securely hold the
upper cabinet to
the main chassis without any problem.
After installation, a nickel plated hole plug snaps
into the keyhole to give the finished look.
This also hides the
existence
of the latch assembly
INCLUDED: 1 latch assembly, 1
nickel plated "hole plug",
and 4 special thread screws
for mounting.
The bracket plate for the latch assembly
is 2 1/4" wide, and 1 3/4" high
Warranty is 2 years, excluding damage.
