port openings have been enlarged over
16% in throat area to allow the use of
larger valves for freer breathing.
INTAKE VALVES — Increased in size
for better filling of combustion cham-
ber, resulting in more horsepower.
TAPPETS — Lightweight racing-type.
Have less inertia and thus allow the
valves to follow the cams at higher
speeds.
PISTONS — High turbulence, high
