18” x 18” 1980s Original Illinois Bell Telco Unused Metal Sign  - Two sided says “An Ameritech Company” at bottom. Has sticky protective “paper” on both sides, I pealed one side off. Took me about 10 minutes. There are hundreds of signs pictured in “Payphone History” book (available on ebay .95) and showing the various names and name changes of Bell in the states and territories but I didn’t keep track especially after deregulation and getting into names like Ameritech.  I don’t remember when I bought it but imagine that is was in the 1980s or 1990s. I like old signs but don’t collect them or display them much and I want to move out and sell the building in which this was stored. This sign is not plastic. I have a feeling that it went into storage before having the occasion to use it following one of their numerous name changes.
